Aromatherapy
I am a holistic, intuitive massage therapist. I use a variety
of styles: from gentle relaxation strokes to deeper trigger point work
(very useful for the traditional hotspots on the neck and shoulders);
trauma release work on muscles such as the Psoas; as well as working
with you to meet the needs of your body.
As a holistic therapist I consider not only the needs of your
physical body, but your emotional, mental and spiritual needs too. In
my experience, as we deal with all of you, a new balance is found.
Initial appointments include a free 15 minute consultation.
The price includes the selection and use of organic, fair-trade
aromatherapy oils. (Click here for the
price list without aromatherapy oils.)

My experience in aromatherapy:
Back in the mid 90's my sister sent me some top quality
Geranium essential oil as a present in the post, since then I've been
hooked on Aromatherapy and essential oils.
My particular interest is in their application for emotional,
psychological and spiritual wellbeing, but it all began with 'the body'
and my journey back to good health from a slipped disc in my upper
spine.
Aromatherapy essential oils are particularly useful for;-
- Respiratory disorders (chest infections, sinusitis)
- Stress related conditions (IBS, muscular tension,
headaches, over active mind, insomnia)
- Skin conditions (eczema, congested skin, excessive
perspiration, dry skin)
- Circulation, muscle and joint problems (odema, muscular
stiffness, sprains)
- Immune System issues (colds, infections, influenza)
- Genito-urinary and hormonal system imbalances (painful
menstruation, cystitis, thrush, PMT)
I tailor each Holistic Aromatherapy Massage to the clients
needs. I've created a standard appointment (1 & ½ hour
appointment) specifically to ensure we have time to determine what your
needs are and how Aromatherapy and Massage can help. Each initial
appointment includes a free 15 minute consultation. To book see the
information below.
Holistic Aromatherapy could be defined as the use of aromatic
plant essential oils to aid a person's natural ability to find
physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing. Essential oils are the
highly concentrated essences produced by plants for (that we know of)
their own wellbeing; protection from external attack (eg fungi) and
attracting pollinators.
Aromatic plants have been used for their health promoting
properties for thousands of years. Aromatherapy in its current form,
using essential oils, took shape early last century initially through a
perfumery accident, showing the amazing therapeutic qualities of
Lavender. It's expanded to include hundreds of essential oils all with
different personalities and properties. Used in combination or alone
they work their magic on depression, anxiety, IBS, stress, aching
muscles, sore backs, grief, loneliness,
I trained as a Holistic Aromatherapist at the Northern School
of Aromatherapy in Mirfield, West Yorkshire in 1998. Since then I have
been using essential oils, mostly in conjunction with massage, to help
clients (and friends and family) with their problems. A drop of
Lavender *on your pillow at night helps you with disturbed sleep. A
Geranium* bath might be the solution to that PMT. Peppermint*
inhalations are just the thing for stubborn sinus problems. Although
there are contra-indications and rules to follow, it's a wonderful way
to maintain health and there are some great books out there too.
(* Before you use any essential oils at home, please make the
effort to check on each oils suitability, contra-indications (ie when
that oil is NOT suitable), dosage and usage. Many thanks x)
CANCELLATION AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS POLICY:
A full treatment fee will be charged, at the discretion of the
